When All Started...

Dear History Passionate of D-DAY, let me introduce myself. My name is Jean-Pierre, call me JP. I grew up in France and spent my childhood in Normandy and Brittany, I made my first steps on the Normandy’s Beaches Utah and Omaha, at that time I was living at Saint Lo... Like you I am passionate about History and particularly June 6, 1944 in Normandy.

I am pleased to introduce our outstanding program—an experience that allows you to become a true witness to History. Walking the soil of Normandy, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the events of June 6, 1944, and the people who shaped them.
It all began a few years ago, during a trip to the very beaches where the D-Day landings took place. There, I had the honor of meeting several veterans of June 6. Standing face-to-face with these real-life heroes felt like stepping into the pages of a living history book—their words, stories, and presence left a lasting impact on me.
Since then, I’ve returned to Normandy regularly. In the Sainte-Mère-Église area, I met with reenactors—passionate individuals who step back into 1944 by donning original uniforms, recreating encampments, and driving beautifully restored Willys Jeeps and vintage military vehicles. The sense of stepping into the past is surreal.
In the village of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, you can witness Airborne units gather around the church in perfectly reconstructed camps. It truly feels as if the landings have just taken place. Villagers dress in 1944 summer fashion, and the air is filled with the sounds of Glenn Miller and other wartime tunes. The energy is contagious—and before I knew it, I too became the proud owner of a Willys Jeep.
Driving that Jeep along the Normandy causeways gives you chills. It’s more than transportation—it’s a connection to history.

From C47 Jumps...

One day, a C-47 flew overhead. It circled once, then began dropping paratroopers who landed all around me. Dressed in authentic WWII uniforms with black camouflage on their faces, they looked like they had stepped straight out of history. I was convinced—this was something I had to experience for myself.
A year later, I graduated from Jump School.
Soon after, I found myself aboard a C-47. The excitement was overwhelming—the roar of the engines, the heavy scent of gasoline and oil, the vibration of the fuselage—and above all, the adrenaline. We were headed straight for Sainte-Mère-Église.
Then came the Jumpmaster’s commands:
“Get ready! Stand up! Hook up! Check static line! Check equipment! Sound off for equipment check!”
One by one, from the rear to the front of the stick, the responses echoed:
“Number twelve OK!” ... “Number one OK!”
“Stick ready, Jumpmaster!”
“Stand in the door!”
The red light turned green—we were over the Drop Zone. This was it.
I jumped.
One thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four thousand...
Then the chute snapped open with a jolt, and silence fell. Only the hum of the aircraft lingered above me. In that suspended moment, there was something truly magical.
The ground rose fast. After 90 seconds of descent, I performed my PLF—Parachute Landing Fall—and I was there, on the soil of Normandy.
In that instant, I realized I had entered another dimension of historical experience. A moment few will ever know, and one I will never forget.

TO D-DAY MEMORY TOUR

June 2nd, 2016—my 70th jump.
It ended with a landing in a tree... and then, a trip to the hospital. That day, I understood that I wouldn't be jumping again for a long while. But my spirits remained high—and if anything, my passion grew even stronger.
During my rehabilitation, I decided to channel that passion into something new—something meaningful. That’s how D-DAY Memory Tour was born.
The concept is simple: with my team, we take you back in time. You will live the history of D-Day in a deeply personal and immersive way—as a true witness to history. This is not just another tour. Our goal is to offer something different. With our expertise and knowledge, we will guide you through moments filled with authenticity, emotion, and truth.
We believe that history must be experienced—on the very ground where it happened. We remember how many young soldiers came from far across the ocean to fight for freedom on these shores. Through this experience, you will gain a new understanding of their courage and sacrifice.
We promise an authentic adventure, unlike anything else. Each of our program options is designed to fit your interests and comfort, all while honoring the sacred nature of this land and the memory of those who were here on June 6, 1944.
